PADI Rescue Diver

Rescue DiverWhen you first learned to dive in the PADI Open Water Diver Course, you focused primarily on yourself and mastered knowledge and skills for taking care of yourself underwater. In the PADI Advanced Open Water Course, your focus broadened to include the environment in a variety of situations. In the PADI Rescue Diver course, you're about to enter the next stage, in which your focus broadens further to include other divers

What do I need to start?

You need to be at least 12 years old and be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation. You will have successfully completed a sanctioned CPR program within the past 24 months. The Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid) courses meet these requirements. You will also need to complete the following forms:

• PADI Statement of Risks and Liability.
• PADI/RSTC Medical Statement.
• PADI Standard Safe Diving Practices.

What will I do?

The PADI Rescue Diver course consists of three segments: knowledge development, rescue training sessions and open water rescue scenarios.

Knowledge development provides you with the principles, theories and concepts that you'll apply in the course. During the rescue training sessions, you'll apply what you've been studying as you develop and practice rescue skills in the swimming pool.

After successfully completing the academic and rescue training sessions, you'll be ready for the four open water rescue scenarios. These can be undertaken on one of our many trips to locations including Egypt, The Italian Riviera and Stoney Cove under the supervision of an Instructor from Galaxsea Divers.

How long will it take?

PADI programs are performance based. However, you can expect to complete the course in four days.
