PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle

DPV’s offer a thrilling way to see a lot of underwater territory in a brief amount of time. They scoot you through the water without kicking. Want to visit that offshore reef from the beach? A DPV may be the way to go!
What do I need to start?
You need to be at least 12 years old and certified as a PADI Junior Open Water Diver, PADI Open Water Diver or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation. You will also need to complete the following forms:
• PADI Statement of Risks and Liability
• PADI/RSTC Medical Statement
• PADI Standard Safe Diving Practices
What will I do?
This course covers the knowledge, skills and techniques for diving with diver propulsion vehicles including the following:
• Dive planning organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards.
• Equipment considerations.
• Procedures for determining a turnaround point.
• Diver etiquette and how to avoid harming fragile aquatic life.
• Techniques for entering and exiting the water with a DPV
• Two open water training dives.
How long will it take?
PADI programs are performance based. However, you can expect to complete the two dives in one day.

As a PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle you can enrol on the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course or continue your education through the wide variety of PADI specialty courses. This certification also counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.
