About DAN

Divers Alert Network (DAN) is a non-profit medical and research organization dedicated to the safety and health of recreational scuba divers. It operates diving's only 24-hour emergency hotline, a diving medical hotline, and carries out diving medical research. It has developed a number of educational programs for everyone from beginning divers to medical professionals.

Divers Alert Network (DAN) training and education.

Diving accidents are rare, but things can go wrong and at the back of any diver’s mind must be concerns about whether their skills are sharp enough to deal with an emergency. DAN courses will teach you the skills and techniques to manage different scenarios that could lead to potential disaster.

The courses can be taken singularly, but you can save time by combining some of them in the Diving Emergency Management Provider Program or Diving First Responder courses. With any of the following qualifications under your belt, you will be brimming with confidence which will allow you to fully relax and get more out of your diving.

For further information on the course please click on the logo at the side of the description.

Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving InjuriesDAN Courses Badges

This course represents entry-level training to educate the general diving (and qualified non-diving) public to better recognise possible dive-related injuries and to provide emergency oxygen first aid while activating the local emergency medical services (EMS) and / or arranging for evacuation to the nearest available medical facility.

DAN Courses BadgesAdvanced Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries

A Training Program for those individuals who have successfully completed the DAN Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries course. It is designed to train DAN Oxygen Providers to use a positive pressure valve (as the MTV100) and/or a bag-valve-mask (BVM); depending on local legal laws and regulations.

DAN Courses BadgesMedical Oxygen Rebreather (MO2R)

During the DAN MO2R course, DAN Oxygen Providers will learn when it is appropriate to deploy the Medical Oxygen Rebreather, how to set up the system and how to use it. Thanks to a Medical Oxygen Rebreather and divers trained in the use of such systems, diving in remote locations will be safer than ever.

DAN Courses BadgesAutomated External Defibrillator (AED) for Scuba Diving

An entry level training program designed to educate the general diving, and qualified non-diving, public to better recognise the warning signs of sudden cardiac arrest and administer first aid using Basic Life Support techniques and an Automated External Defibrillator while activating the local emergency medical services.

On Site Neurological Assessment for Divers

Learn how to conduct a neurological assessment on a potentially injured diver in this course. The information gained in this assessment can help convince a diver of the need for oxygen first aid, and help a dive physician determine the proper treatment.
