The Diving

Diving in Pembrokeshire waters is described as an experience once dived never forgotten! There are a multitude of wrecks, reefs, drop offs and exhilarating drift dives, designed to suit every diver’s experience and taste.

Dive Sites are plentiful with coastal diving such as Solva Area and island diving such as the Smalls and Skomer Island. It's very rare for a boat to be unable to launch and diving to take place as there are plenty of sheltered coves and inlets to explore.

Marine life

The offshore islands are of international importance for their breeding seabirds, grey seals dolphins, porpoises and marine life. The waters around Skomer Island have been designated as a Marine Nature Reserve and provide fantastic diving opportunities to see octopus, seahorses’ sea slugs, crabs, lobster, crayfish, corals and many fish species. Underwater habitats support a rich and varied fauna and flora due to the warm Atlantic Drift, described as a diver's paradise.

Wrecks

Wrecks are numerous with frequently clear water over rock bottoms giving some of the best diving in the U.K. They are at a variety of depths ranging from the Faraday (6-9metres), Graffoe (10-15metres) to the Prince Cadwgan (20metres), Nimrod (18-32metres) and the Calburga(35-43metres).

The Boat

We are diving of a skippered charter boat. There is a shelter area with enough seating for 12 people and an onboard toilet. There is tea & coffee making facilities, which you can help yourselves too at any time. Entry into the water is by a giant stride. Getting back onto the boat is via a Diver Lift.

Accommodation

We are staying at the Upper Neeston Lodges which is close to the marina where the boat will pick you up,  The units have a sitting room and kitchen/dining area with TV and wood-burning stove. The bunkrooms sleep between 4 and 6 people per room and each has an en-suite shower room.  The facilities include ample parking, secure kit storage areas. A full set of bed linen (pillow, pillowcase, sheet, duvet and duvet cover) is provided.  You will need to provide your own towels. Galaxsea Divers provide the basics for a self catering breakfast; however there is a Tesco locally and access to pub grub.
